Cameron’s basketball journey began at RA Long High School and continued through two seasons at Lower Columbia College. After playing, he took on a coaching role at Lower Columbia, helping guide the next generation of players while nurturing his passion for the game. Though he enjoyed coaching, Cameron’s desire to play basketball at a higher level led him back to the court, where he’s now taking on the challenge of his first season in semi-pro basketball.
“This season is all about starting something new for me,” Cameron shared. “It’s my rookie year and my first pro experience, and I’m excited to meet new people, grow alongside my teammates, and help build up this team.”
Originally from Apple Valley, California, Cameron grew up in Longview, Washington, and is eager to make an impact in the Willamette Valley.
Cameron values respect, inclusivity, and building relationships with everyone he meets, and he’s ready to make a positive difference in the Willamette Valley. “I want to contribute to the community by being respectful to everyone I come in contact with and helping out however I can,” Cameron said. “I’m excited to lend a hand in any way needed and build friendships along the way.”
With his approachable nature and welcoming personality, Cameron hopes to inspire the youth in the Willamette Valley, demonstrating how dedication and resilience can open doors both on and off the court.
Marion Clark, team owner, praised Cameron’s character and the unique perspective he brings as a former coach turned player: “Cameron’s journey from playing to coaching and back to playing again says a lot about his passion and determination. He knows the game from different angles and will bring that insight to the Jaguars.”
As Cameron embarks on this new chapter with the Jaguars, he’s determined to make his mark in both his playing career and the Willamette Valley community. His dedication to growth, connection, and respect promises to resonate with fans and inspire young players in the region.
