Cy’s journey began in Anchorage, Alaska, where the cold seasons kept him on the court, refining his love for the game. From elementary school through high school varsity, basketball became a creative outlet, and even when he briefly explored football after high school, he ultimately returned to his first love. “Basketball has been a pillar of expression and creativity in my life,” Cy shared. “I’m grateful for every opportunity that God has presented me.”
At 24, Cy is fully committed to his craft, training tirelessly to achieve his goals and bring his best to the Jaguars and himself. Looking ahead, he sees the Jaguars as the right environment to hone his skills, aiming to develop into a player who can make a powerful impact on the court.
Cy is also eager to make an impact off the court. He is passionate about using his experiences to inspire local youth, helping them to understand the importance of discipline, hard work, and faith. “I want them to see that I’m just like them. I want to show them what hard work and discipline can accomplish, and to trust that faith in God will carry them through,” Cy said.
As a local player, Cy has a unique perspective on the challenges of accessing training facilities in the Pacific Northwest. Owner Marion Clark emphasized the significance of Cy’s presence for the community: “Cy has an immediate presence when he walks into a gym. I knew he could play when he walked in, and his size makes him a mismatch wherever he is on the court. Being a local guy, he can have a huge impact on the youth in the Valley because he knows what it’s like to live here in the rain and try to find gyms to access.”
Cy’s drive to be the best version of himself is evident in every aspect of his training and attitude. By pursuing his journey with commitment and integrity, he hopes to inspire others in the Willamette Valley to be their best selves as well.
The Jaguars are excited to welcome Cyaron Williams, whose dedication, strength, and character will bring an inspiring presence to the team and the community.
