Marcives Grayson, a 6’3” combo guard from Wichita, Kansas, has developed his game through relentless training and an unwavering commitment to his craft. Grayson attended Wichita West High School before transferring to Wichita Southeast, where challenges off the court limited his high school playing time. Despite these setbacks, he persevered, dedicating himself to training with professional players and refining his skills.
Last season, Marcives showcased his drive with the Wichita SkyKings of The Basketball League (TBL), where he earned a roster spot after an impressive tryout. Although he didn’t see game action, he remained committed, bringing energy and intensity to every practice and continuing to support his team. His resilience and determination caught the eye of Coach Clark, who invited him to the TBL Summer League in Las Vegas, where Marcives made an impression on multiple teams with his versatility and winning mentality. When he chose to stay with the Willamette Valley Jaguars, it was clear that his dedication would be a valuable asset to the team.
As Marcives heads into his first season with the Jaguars, he has big goals, both on and off the court. “I want to bring a winning culture to the organization,” he shared. “I’m here to help grow the fan base, raise brand awareness, and bring more attention to the team, which will help expand the league overall.”
Originally from Wichita, Kansas, with family ties to Tulsa, Oklahoma, Marcives is also eager to experience life on the West Coast. This season marks a fresh start, and he’s ready to make the most of it as he strives to grow as a player, teammate, and ambassador for the Willamette Valley Jaguars.
Beyond his dedication to winning, Marcives is passionate about giving back to the community. He plans to volunteer, donate, and connect with the youth, hoping to inspire the next generation of players and supporters in the Willamette Valley.
“My goal is to win a championship and pursue a career in the NBA,” Marcives explained. “I’m grateful for this opportunity, and I’m excited to make a positive impact in the community.”
Marion Clark, team owner, praised Grayson’s high-energy approach to the game: “I love MG’s motor. He’ll do whatever it takes to win, even if that means guarding full-court all game. Those are the kind of players you need—the ones willing to put in the hard work without hesitation.”
With his well-rounded skill set, passion for the game, and commitment to team and community, Marcives Grayson is set to be a valuable addition to the Willamette Valley Jaguars. Fans can expect to see a player who gives his all on both ends of the court, striving for success and elevating the game for everyone around him.
